It is the branch of osteopathy that balances skeletal muscle alterations. It is characterized by a directed work on the articular structures, (initially the vertebral articulations, extending then to all the others). To understand this, we will explain that the loss of mobility of one or more joints causes imbalances in the organism, which can cause different alterations.

These mobility restrictions are detrimental to the proper functioning of the body (the joint no longer functions in normal physiological axes), bringing local or distant tensions by means of periarticular facial structures (ligaments, tendons, muscular fascias). This results in a state of biomechanical imbalance that is detrimental to the general functioning of the body, either directly (mechanically) or indirectly (via the reflex).

The osteopath manipulating the musculoskeletal system seeks to know if the system of joints and muscles is correctly aligned, if it works well or if due to an accident, a bad position or emotional tension has altered it. By means of these very precise techniques, it normalizes the affected structures in order to balance and re-establish good body functioning.
