It is the branch of osteopathy that normalizes cranial-sacral dysfunctions.

In the skull there are 28 bones and more than 100 joints, these bones are articulated with each other by means of sutures, due to this it is possible that some bones are poorly positioned, aligned, or that there is restriction in any of them.

From the base of the skull start 43 pairs of cranial nerves, of which the first 12 constitute the cranial nerves and the remaining 31 are the spinal nerves that emerge from the spine. Any alteration in the movement of the cranial bones as a consequence of trauma or tension of the meningeal membranes can compress or irritate a cranial nerve, creating numerous repercussions.

By studying, analyzing and understanding the cranio-sacral physiological system and its emotional aspects, the osteopath feels the pulse of this system to determine where the dysfunctions are and to restore them through specific manual techniques. It has no adverse consequences and can be applied to anyone, from infants to the elderly.
